North Carolina law requires permission from a parent or guardian before treating anyone under 18 years of age. However, there are some exceptions to this requirement. We recommend a parent accompany the child to all of their visits. In the event this is not possible, please send a written statement with the adult who will accompany the child, giving permission to treat the child. This statement should include a phone number where a parent or guardian can be reached. In the event we are unable to obtain consent, the appointment may need to be rescheduled.
